South Australia Now Open for ROI Applications

As every state has now got its full allocations for the 2025-26 Skilled Migration program, South Australia has officially opened its Registration of Interest (ROI) submission for eligible candidates who are living and working in the state. This marks an important opportunity for applicants aiming to secure state nomination under the Subclass 190 or Subclass 491 visa pathways.

Here is the overview of the 2025–26 Skilled Migration allocation for South Australia:

The Australian Government has provided a total of 2,250 nomination places to South Australia, including interim allocations, which are distributed as follows:

  • 1,350 nomination places – Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa)
  • 900 nomination places – Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional Provisional Visa)

Further Highlights from This Announcement:

  • The ROI submission is only required for onshore candidates who are living and working in South Australia.
  • Candidates who are applying from outside Australia do not need to lodge an ROI because they will receive invitations directly through their EOI submitted in SkillSelect.
  • Before submitting an ROI, make sure you meet the criteria for the appropriate stream, as SA has different requirements for each pathway.
  • The SA state’s official guidelines on how to apply for the nomination provide complete information related to application submission.

What This Means for Applicants

As the allocations are now confirmed and the ROI submission is open for onshore candidates, the pathway for skilled migration has become clear for skilled workers who are planning to apply. So, if you are already living in South Australia, be prepared with all the accurate documents and submit your ROI for 190 or 491 nominations.

Plus, offshore applicants should also ensure their EOI is up to date and competitive to improve their chances of receiving an invitation.
