Tasmania has released its latest update on state nomination invitations on 4th December 2025 for subclass 190 and 491 applications. Along with this announcement, the state also confirms that it is temporarily pausing its invitation round during this Christmas and New Year period and will resume this in early 2026.
Here’s a breakdown of the latest nomination round:
- Subclass 190: 20 ROIs invited with the lowest invited score set at 49 points (Orange pass)
- Subclass 491: 33 ROIs invited with the lowest invited score set at 40 points (Orange pass)
Current Status of ROIs
ROIs on hand (have a status of Submitted after the invitation round has taken place):
- Subclass 190 – 328 ROIs
- Subclass 491 – 232 ROIs
Nomination places available:
- Subclass 190 – 962 places
- Subclass 491 – 572 places
Pending applications:
- Applications lodged but undecided:
- Subclass 190 – 197 applications
- Subclass 491 – 60 applications
- Invitations issued but applications not yet lodged:
- Subclass 190 – 128 invitations
- Subclass 491 – 90 invitations
Apart from that, the earliest nomination application that is currently awaiting processing was submitted on November 14, 2025.
What This Means for Applicants
There are still 962 places for Subclass 190 and 572 for Subclass 491, so applicants who have not yet received an invitation are advised to review their eligibility, complete documents, and ensure their ROIs are accurate, which helps in enhancing invitation chances.
