As February begins, South Australia’s Skilled and Business Migration program continues its monthly invitation rounds. In this month’s round, the state issued 364 invitations, which is slightly up from 344 in January.  

This reflects steady demand in key occupations such as health, engineering, ICT, and other professional services while also giving skilled professionals a clear pathway toward permanent residency. 

Key Numbers for February 2026 Invitation: 

  • Total invitations issued: 364 
  • Invitations issued in Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional) visas: 137 
  • Invitations issued in Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated) visas: 227

Invitation Highlights: Who’s in Demand? 

  • Health professionals are still in high demand. This month also, 95 invitations were issued in these occupations; out of which 88 were for Subclass 190 and 7 for Subclass 491. This makes the total of 269 for 2025-26, showing a real shortage of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare specialists. 
  • Design, Engineering, Science and Transport professionals received 68 invitations in this round (62 under Subclass 190 and 6 under Subclass 491), highlighting ongoing demand for technical and project-based skills. 
  • All 38 invitations for ICT professionals were issued under Subclass 491, showing South Australia’s strong focus on regional ICT roles. 
  • Construction Trades Workers also got 35 invitations this month to support regional housing and infrastructure growth.
