The dream of working and living in Australia with a family member is exciting, but the path does not always seem clear. It comes with too much confusion and questions in mind. If you want to apply through any employer-sponsored visa, then employer sponsorship, nomination approvals, and strict visa compliance rules can make even experienced professionals pause.
That’s where the real guidance makes the real difference. At Growmore Immigration, we recently assisted a pharmacist from India, currently working in the UAE, to secure his Subclass 494 Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa.
The Client’s Profile
Our client originally comes from India but was working in the UAE when he approached us first time for Australian immigration guidance. His professional profile was strong and aligned well with Australia’s demand for healthcare professionals.
Key details of the profile:
- Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
- Work Experience: Around 6 years as a pharmacist
- English Language Test: PTE with Overall Score of 85
- Family Included: Wanted to include his spouse in the application
- His age at time of application: 30 years
Most importantly, he already had a job opportunity with an employer in regional Australia, located in Bendigo.
Our Step-by-Step Approach
Step 1: Profile Evaluation
Every successful visa application begins with a proper strategy.
When the client approached Growmore Immigration, our first step was to evaluate his eligibility for employer-sponsored migration pathways. With a consultation with our RMA, we carefully reviewed his occupation, work experience, and employer support to determine the most suitable visa option.
Afte his detailed assessment, it was clear that the Subclass 494 Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa was the best choice for him to apply. This visa allows skilled professionals to live and work in designated regional areas of Australia and also provides a potential pathway to permanent residency.
Step 2: Skills Assessment
To work in a pharmacist occupation, having a positive skills assessment is essential.
We have verified that the client had already completed his skills assessment independently for Retail Pharmacist (ANZSCO 251513) from APC before contacting us, which saved time in the process and allowed us to move forward to the next step in 494 visa application.
Step 3: Employer Sponsorship (SBS)
Another critical factor in this case was that the employer was already an approved sponsor under the Standard Business Sponsorship program.
This meant the company which is situated in Bendigo was ready to sponsor the professional for a pharmacist role.
Step 4: Nomination and RCB Process
Once we confirmed the sponsorship status of his employer, our team handled the next two crucial stages: RCB and Nomination Application
RCB Advice
First, we requested RCB advice because this is a mandatory thing to require at the time of nomination. This confirms that the position meets regional labor market conditions, salary standards, and is genuine. Once we obtained the RCB advice we were ready for the next step.
Nomination Application
We prepared the employer nomination for the Retail Pharmacist role and got its approval on 2nd Feb 2026. Our team carefully checked all documents, coordinated with the employer, and ensured every detail complied with regional visa requirements during submission. Handling both RCB advice and nomination together helped avoid delays and set the stage for a smooth visa lodgement.
Step 5: Visa Lodgement
After securing nomination approvals and completing the documentation, we lodged the visa application.
Visa Lodgement Date: 16 January 2026
As he wanted to move to Australia along with his spouse, we included both the primary applicant and his partner in the 494 visa application.
Step 6: Visa Approval
After weeks of careful preparation and consistent follow-ups, the moment everyone had been waiting for finally arrived.
Visa Grant Date: 7 March 2026
The Subclass 494 visa was officially approved. A dream come true for our client and his spouse!
A New Chapter in Bendigo
As the visa is approved, now our client can start his new exciting chapter as a retail pharmacist in Bendigo and work with his employer. Not just that, but after working in a regional area for 3 years, he can also apply for an Australia PR after meeting all eligibility criteria.
