As 2026 kicks off, South Australia starts the new year with its first round of invitations for state nomination. Under the General Skilled Migration program, Skilled and Business Migration continues to invite applicants across the four streams.
Today, the latest invitation round happens, in which a total of 344 invitations were issued for Subclass 190 and Subclass 491. Out of them, 235 are issued for Subclass 190, while 109 invitations are issued for Subclass 491.

What’s Next for Skilled Migration
In total, 344 invitations were issued for subclass 190 and 491, while health professionals are continuing to remain in high demand compared to other occupations, receiving the highest 69 invitations in the January 2026 round.
However, if you do not get an invitation in this round, then the next round will be expected to happen in early February 2026. So, keep your documents ready to stay competitive in the upcoming rounds.
