Tasmania’s Latest Invitation Round Results – 12 Feb 2026

Tasmania is continuously conducting its Skilled Migration invitation rounds on a weekly basis and following a consistent selection cycle. However, instead of releasing unpredictable volumes, the state has maintained a steady and controlled flow of invitations across the Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 pathways over the past several rounds.

The latest round was held today on 12 February 2026.

So, if you are keeping an eye on the Tasmania state nomination, here is the breakdown of the invitation figures and current nomination position.

Invitations Issued – 12 February 2026

  • Subclass 190 – 38 ROIs invited
  • Subclass 491 – 26 ROIs invited

A total of 64 invitations were issued in this round, which reflects Tasmania’s ongoing selective allocation strategy.

Score Thresholds

  • Subclass 190 – 50 points (Orange pass)
  • Subclass 491 – 36 points (Orange pass)

While these points may appear small, they do not mean low competition, but they refer to targeted filtering. Because Tasmania continues to prioritise applicants based on occupation demand, regional contribution, and overall strategic alignment, rather than solely depending on points.

The Real Competition: Active ROIs in the System

After this round, the remaining submitted ROIs stand at:

  • 190 – 496 candidates
  • 491 – 201 candidates

That indicates that nearly 700 profiles are still competing for future invitations.

Available Nomination Positions

Currently, the following number of positions are available:

  • Subclass 190 – 679 places
  • Subclass 491 – 481 places

At first glance, the remaining allocation numbers may seem enough. However, the system is already carrying a backlog of applications and has issued invitations, which can reduce this availability.

Processing Pipeline Breakdown

Applications lodged but not yet decided:

  • Subclass 190 – 297 applications
  • Subclass 491 – 176 applications

Invitations issued but not yet lodged:

  • Subclass 190 – 111 invitations
  • Subclass 491 – 78 invitations

This means hundreds of nomination spots are already tied up within the assessment system.

Processing Movement Indicator

The oldest nomination application yet to be allocated to a case officer was lodged on:

05 December 2025

This gives a practical benchmark for applicants assessing realistic timeframes.

Strategic Considerations for Applicants

  • For Subclass 190: 50-point selection shows that opportunities exist, but nomination depends on strong occupation relevance and meeting specific state nomination criteria.
  • For Subclass 491: The regional pathway remains accessible. Candidates who want to live and work in regional Tasmania continue to have good opportunities.
  • Active Competition: Hundreds of ROIs remain in the system, making selection competitive even after weekly rounds.
  • Places Are Being Used: A considerable number of applications have already been submitted or are pending, which lowers the number of available slots.
  • Act with Preparation: Submitting a well-prepared and properly aligned ROI improves your position in upcoming rounds.
